Re: The other one intro (Musician help) |
"Idk if there is a better beginning to any song than the other one, or a more awesome bass line."
...And I don't know if there is a more thunderous opening for a TOO than this one:
http://www.archive.org/details/gd78-02-05.aud.set2.warner.19466.sbeok.shnf(The Dicks Picks is DEFINITELY better sound Q.)
The first 7 1/2 minutes are some of my favorite GD minutes, period!
Enjoy,

Re: The other one intro (Musician help) |
that other one is a pure monster. At times it gets so thunderous its like a train wreck, but in a good way. And the climax around 6 minutes with jer shredding... perfection.
I had a friend who was really into rap and had quite the subwoofer set up in his car. I asked to play DP 18 TOO in his car to see how it sounded. The intro was merely car shaking, you couldnt even make out the notes.

"...it gets so thunderous its like a train wreck..."
A "rampaging pack of pachyderms" always came to my mind.
I also love that tone Jerry has around the three-minute mark. It's a strange sound; I've never heard him play that note[s] again.
This is another favorite from the same ilk:
http://www.archive.org/details/gd78-01-06.sbd.clugston.6953.sbeok.shnfThe whole second set is beastly: Playin>Estmated>Drums>TOO>Truckin !!! Playin and Estimated would consume over half of your lunch hour.
Enjoy,
